My car took longer than expected and they let me take a loaner car home and they also, cleaned and washed it a service I was definitely not expecting. After sixteen years in Richmond I have finally found a good mechanic! (And shop- that's just as important). After I hit a pothole the size of a small swimming pool I damaged my rim and bubbled the tire- it looked really bad. I called the shop and Kit was really helpful with advice. They are close to where I work so I went on down to have them look at it.
I have specialty tires so I was totally floored when Kit called a couple hours later saying he had tracked one down for me- I honestly did not expect the car to be back up for a couple days. They also found and fixed a nail in my rear tire!
Long story short- I went in without an appointment when they were very busy and needing a special tire and they had me out same day. And the price was very fair. I know exactly what those tires cost and I feel like I got a great deal.
Especially after the last experience I had with a different garage, I will say these folks know how to treat their customers. They even gave me a ride back down the street to work. I'll be going there for everything from now on.

Update: I've continued to go to this shop for pretty much everything from oil changes to inspections to various crisises, even though I no longer work in the area. It's worth the drive. I recommend this shop with absolutely no reservations. They do really good work, are super helpful and so nice to deal with. I wish every place was like this - if I detailed every time they've helped me out, taken great care of my car and treated me well, I'd have to write a book. Consistently excellent. read less -
